Well here it is.# 1 cyl is on the pass front, distributor rotation is clockwise,,and the firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6 in case you need that.Hope this helps.
Thanks a bunch buddy..looks like I did it right afterall... but she still wont start?? any Ideas?..timeing is on the money(close) got spark, air and gas??? Im a painter not a mechanic... LOL and they dont mix???
PainterSmurf,
If your timing is right then you are not getting gas. Remove the aircleaner and flip the throttle foward and see if your accelerator pump is squirting. Make sure your choke is open. Check that your plugs are not fouled.

Make sure also that your timing isn't 180 degrees off....do you have a backfire through the carb?
Yes... I do have back fire thru the carb... I might be 180 out?? I have every intention of putting a V8 in it this winter... I just wanted ta put it around a bit while Im rounding everything up.. to make the change I love thease lil cars.. my very first new car was 77' crusin wagon... drove it home from the dealership and took it apart and put a 302 BOSS in it... 30 yrs later I wanna build another one.. been doing paint & body wk for the past 30 yrs... I gotta get this all strait again .. LOL
You might have the timing 180 degrees off. According to my '79 Chiltons, the hold down latches for the distributor cap should be about at the 11:00 and 5:00 positions (or so), and the number one wire should be at about 10:00, viewed from the front of the car.
Hope this helps, it's a pain when things don't start!
