I have an 80 wagon but would rather have the round headlights and front end from an older pinto, could I put the older fenders and hood up front or would they not match the rest of the body?
my 78 wagon has 74 front fenders, hood, and grill, and it lines up perfectly with the body. I dont know if the body really changed that much, but probably not
I know they didn't look much different, plus I would rather have the round headlights of the earlier models.
i believe the body lines don't match up exactly, but they do fit. There is another thread about this somewhere on the site.

Well I got the fenders bolted on and all the body lines match up! :) I'll post some pics when I get some batteries for the digital camera
What year front end did you swap on?

I'm not an expert on the years by just looking at the bodies (for Pinto's at least) but the 1971 was written on the window of the car I pulled them off of at the yard.
8)personally i like the look of the 79-80 front ends. where are you located? i am looking for a pinto, and if i cant find a 79-80 then i would like to buy the front sheet metal from you.

I am in Colorado, The passenger front fender is in good shape but the driver side is pretty crunched.
