Title: New member saying Hi to everyone
Post by: neal martin on June 03, 2007, 08:08:59 AM
Hi, my name is Neal Martin, just delivered my newest 72 pinto to the body man.
It's in pretty good shape but had some cover up body work done in the past.
It's all in peicies now, anybody have an idea where we can find quarter panels ?
If not we will fabricate, bought it for 600.00 and drove it home with promise to owner that it would be restored. You guys got some nice looking rides, soon mine will be among them, love the site, glad I found it.

Welcome Aboard!

Would love to see your work in progress.  1/4 panels can be found, but not as easily as it is to find donor cars.

Good luck with your little pony!

Thanks guys, I will be showing it to the previous owner ( with a picture ) when done, she was a nice lady and didn't want it to become a race car. I visited the car yesterday, he's going to use Mustang repair panels on the quarters and cut them down and reshape, pretty good fit without having to fabricate the whole thing, it's coming along but will take some time.
This guy only does top quality work, no bondo, all welded new stuff.
I'll try to get some pics during and after to post.

Nice find Neal! I'm looking at possibly getting a 72' myself which will become my new restoration project! What state are you located in? There's a handfull of early 70's hatchbacks and runabouts here in idaho in our salvage yards if you're near by.

I'm in Florida, not to many of any kind around here, lots of race tracks that have eaten them all up, I did several myself, they made some damn good mini stocks. Gave up racing 3 years ago and found this one by accident and so the story goes.
I love the way it drives, needed very little to be roadworthy and now getting the makeover.
Thanks for saying Hi
