Hi there:
I'm in the UK. I'm having a problem finding a decent starter to turn a 12:1 compression, 2.1 pinto engine over fast enough. Does anyone know if the Diesel Ford Transit Van starter is a straight swap..is the mounting flange the same, etc?
Also, anyone had experience of the "Edge" type reduction gear starters..are they as good as the adverts claim? The pictures I've seen of these seem to show a starter without the typical pre-engaged "snout" housing...a bit like the old inertia types?
Any help appreciated.
Cheers! Mike
