How would I get a title for a 74 pinto/ I remember something posted a while back but cant find it ..THX in advance
depending on where you live. you have to go and get a reconstructed title OR request a custom title, as if you built the car from scratch.(like a kit car). its all done at the dmv. (i hope this helped.) tony v.
Each state is different, it will also depend if you are the title holder and lost it, or are buying the rig from someone else who lost the title. The first place to start is with your VIN at the DMV if you're not the original owner. In Washington (state) you have to have the owner go to DMV and get a certificate of sale (release of interest)in lieu of title. I just did that for a car I sold four years ago....the clown I sold the car to never transfered the title and then lost it, the guy he sold it to had to have me go to DMV and do the release of interest deal.
