Title: fuel sending unit question
Post by: losin sux on May 16, 2007, 02:58:19 PM
I found a 78 MII sending unit at the yard today and was curious as to its application in a 77 Pinto.  The tank has the same kind of shape and size.  I didn't crawl under and pull it as it was above a huge puddle after last nights rain.  The ford dealership didn't have the fiche from that far back to tell me if it would work or not.  Anybody out there with first hand knowledge?  Thanks!

77-78 Mustang II 2.3 is the same as 77-80 Pinto 2.3.
77-78 Mustang II v6 is the same as 77-79 Pinto v6.
Sta-wagon is different.

Thanks for the info Bill.  I guess it doesn't matter if it is physically different when I pull it out, just install it and ops check?
