I am removing the head from a 1974 Pinto 2000cc. I don't have that particular socket for the cylinder head bolts and am wondering what to ask for?
Thanks

Cookieboy recently went through this hunt for 12 point tools. See below.

KD Tools also has something similar.

I use OTC "wrenches" #7016 for the head bolt and #7015 for the cam belt tensioner and oil pump bolts. I checked the the OTC site and they no longer list these tools. You might find them at one of those flea market tool clearance sales. Playing with allen wrenches, I believe the head bolt is 10mm and the small one is 6mm (this could be off). The above links cover the head bolt size but not the small one. A torx-40 might work for the 6mm (it is a little loose though).
I was able to find a torx allen wrench that fit. Using a long extension as a pry bar was able to remove the head.
Thanks for the tool listing, I will check them out this afternooon.

Yes I had fun finding the right tool. Once I knew what it was I had no problems finding it.
2 suggestions -
get new head bolts - or check to see if the 2.0 head bolts are the "stretching" kind. On my 1980 2.3 they were the stretching type and I do believe if they are the "stretching" type you don't want to reuse them and buy new ones. I didn't do the head myself on the 2.0 or check to see if they were the stretching type but do know they were replaced.
Also get the right 12 point tool before reinstall. I too found an allen wrench that was a close fit but almost ended up stripping the bolt trying to remove mine. I stopped before I got into to much trouble but it was close. When you reinstall you will be putting a lot of torq to tighten and may not be worth the risk of stripping the bolt on reinstall. As I recall a 4pc 12 point kit was only $15 and the head bolts were in the $35 range.
For what it's worth ,
Snap On P/N # STSM12LE
It's 1/2 inch drive with a 12 preceding the P/N. Most likely denotes 12 MM.
Probably cost two arms and one leg by now.
