I just got a 1971 2000cc Pinto engine and have a couple of questions. I started to go through the engine (tune up) and was wondering if any knows what the Dwell angle or Point gap is? Also, the engine came with a K&N filter over the oil fill hole (valve cover). It looks to me that this should be a closed system? I am not sure what the original setup was. Thanks for any help!
The point gap is .025, the dwell is 40 deg. As for the breather, I have a 72 and it does have a line running to the air cleaner to its own element. I don't believe it really makes a difference.
