Got a message last week from 77turbopinto about a cruise-in in Ct.
This would be the first time I have hopped the hood on a pinto for people to admire and not just so they can check it out to see if they want to run.
There were 3 pintos in attendance, 77turbopinto's 77 V8 car, Creamsicle's Orange 78, and my 77/78.
The crowd at the pintos was just as big if not bigger than the other cars in attendance.
There was a 69 SuperBee next to us that didnt get 1/4 of the lookers.
It was nice to watch people looking the cars over... their faces lighting up... talking to them and listning to their stories and answering their questions.
People LOVE pintos. and I see what I have been missing out on.
I am building mine to be a part time racer and a part time driver... I think it will also be a part time show piece now.
At the moment mine is just an all original car with some wear and tear... as to be expected, but the comments and lookers were enough to put a huge smile on my face.
Bill, Connie... thinks for the invite!!
And now for a few pics.
My 77/78 is the all blue one to the left as you look from the front.
Connie's 78 is the orange one in the middle.
Bill's 77 v8 car is the blue one with the black accents.
Enjoy.

Jim
Nice pictures. It is great listening to the stories of how everyone had one or knew some one with one.
pintos are fun.

Looks like a neat gathering--great pix, Jim! Looks like a certain V8 Pinto found a new home--good for you Bill and Connie. My co-worker was at the Glastonbury cruise this week with, I think his '61 Impala or something (said he won a trophy for it?), and when I asked him if "the Pinto People" were there, he said yes, and when he mentioned that one of them was light blue with a V8, I had a feeling which one it was. Anyway, my VW buddies Bill & Greg (who you met last year) are talking about heading over to the Glastonbury cruise again soon--but probably not next week (5/15) due to one of them being away on a business trip, so 5/22 might be the next possible opportunity. If they make plans to go, I'll try my best also (& also check in here), and drive Diane's Pinto if I do. So, perhaps see y'all there. Keep the Pinto faith!

Just heard back from one of my VW buddies, who is suggesting June 12th as a good target date. So, I've tentatively got June 12th noted on my calendar to get out with the Pinto up to the McDonald's Glastonbury cruise night.
Here's info I was able to find about the event, from the 102.9 WDRC-FM Cruisin News page:
"Glastonbury: Every Tuesday night cruise at the McDonald's on Main Street in Glastonbury, weather permitting, begining May 8th, 2007. 50/50 raffle, trophies, door prizes, and giveaways. Also, one night Only!!! Saturday, September 15th car show begining at 5:00 p.m. at the Glastonbury McDonald's. (Parents, bring your cameras, Ronald McDonald will be making a special appearance.) Proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Any questions, contact: Joe Sokola @ (860) 882-7887 - Look forward to seeing you there!"
Anyway, I'll let you know if I hear about any changes or updates.
