Title: Lowering the rearend?
Post by: hoots on April 10, 2004, 07:22:56 AM
I've been looking into lowering the rearend on my wagon. RacerWalsh has some bushings to do this but they don't look any different than what's under there now. Has anyone found a way to lower the rear without major mods?

I think the Racer Walsh bushings (?) replace the rubber pad between the leaf spring and axle. It lowers the car about 1" total.

I used Chebby 2" lowering blocks on the 76 wagon I had many years ago. I had u bolts made that were 2" longer than stock. I had to enlarge the hole in the blocks for the locating pin. It work good.

Nowadays you can get universal lowering blocks that might not require any mods.

Mike (PintoPerformanec) recently lowered his wagon 3". He might be able to tell you how he did it.
