YAY! I am happy to say that today i pulled the bobcat engine, and it is ready to go into the pinto. I pulled the engine, and the bellhousing on the bobcat was shot to hell, there were a ton of holes in it and everything. The guy put in a heavy duty clutch, and it looked like he dropped a bolt in there, and didnt take it out, he just put another one in it's place, and that messed up the bellhousing, good thing i'm keeping the pinto an automatic. It took me over 4 hours just to clean up the caked and burnt oil under the hood of the pinto, good ole gasoine and a toothbrush. haha, it sucked. But i'm happy, i'm finally getting some progress done. There are a few problems because of the different years and one has some emision stuff, but we're taking all that off. also the headers are long, and it's going to be tough to get them past the automatic bellhousing. I wish i had a digital camera to show some progress, but we havent gotten around to getting one yet. also now that i have a job(driving the cart at the driving range) i'm able to save up to get the car nice. the interior is first after i get it running nice. After i'm done with the engine swap, i will be starting to part out the 77 bobcat, the body is in perfect condition except for a bad paint job(spray paint camoflauge). no rust anywhere except on the hatch in the back on the inside. It has some nice rims with mags on it, not the same ones that came stock on the pinto, but they look nice. The passenger seat is in perfect condition, and the driver seat is in decent condition except for a somewhat sizeable tear on the butt section. All the glass is perfect, and there is a sunroof in great condition. so if anyone is interested in any parts, you can e-mail me at greasemonkey_44@hotmail.com and we can work something out.
Sounds like youre off to a good start.
You dont need a digital camera to get your pictures online. If you dont already have a 35 mm camera, you can buy a disposable camera with a flash. Take the film to a camera store that will put it on a cd. Around here the franchise that does it is Ritz Camera. The disk comes with a small program you use to view and modify the pictures. You can then upload them as an attachment or get a host.
well i got the camera last night, and i've taken quite a few pics, so i should have them devoloped soon. I have pics of the engine, the bobcat, the pinto, and both.
the guy i'm working with says that it's a 9 inch rearf out back. did any 76 2.3l pintos come stock with a 9 inch rear? if not how can i tell if it was installed or if it is a 9?? we made backwords progress today, the tranny had to come out cause it wouldnt line up, and we cant get work again until monday, it sucks, o well, i'll have some pictures soon.
It will be an 8 inch at best, they look like a nine inch really (third member bolts in from the front)
