In doing my 2.3t swap I am getting rid of the power steering. I disconnected all the lines and equipment and the P.S. rack is all that's left. Do i need to change the rack to a non-power steering one....or can I just leave the existing rack in there like it is? If I can leave it, will there be any steering issues other then the obvious lack of ease in steering? Do i need to plug anything? Thanks. - Amin
It will work fine, just steer hard. Power racks have a little quicker turning ratio, which will make them harder to steer than a manual when no pump is used. You will only notice this like in a parking lot or when the car is not, or is barely moving. Just be sure to plug off the lines to keep it clean in there.

You are better off looping the lines or putting some sort of filter on each port. If you don't it willtry to expand/compress the air inside the rack.
