What kind of work would I be looking at doing to get these wheels on my 71? I know the lug pattern matches up, but is there too much backspacing for them to go on my car? I assume I would have to get some rubber bands for tires if I did put them on there but I love the low pro look on these cars.

I know that I have pictures of a 74+ pinto with 4 lug cobra R wheels. IF I find them, I will post a few. It was Grey in color and had comet tail lights
Because of the serious backspacing of these wheels (more than 6" on some wheels) adapter/spacers will need to be used. There are companies that make these that attach to the car with lugnuts and then the wheels bolt to them. About the most backspacing the frontend will put up with is about 4.5" to 4.75" without the wheels rubbing on the control arm. With the 17" wheel, you may be able to get away with a bit more backspace. An 8" wide wheel may be a better choice for the front.
