All the wires in my mustang donnor car are chewed to hell or fried and are a complete mess. I wanted to know what are all the wires i need to have the motor running again. btw its carbed not efi. thanks
When I did my V-8 install the only wires I had running into the engine compartment that went to the Engine itself the Two wires for the Coil, and the wire for the electric Choke. I also extended the Temp. Gage Wire so I could use my Original Gage, and the Tach. wires, my car has the "Sports Option" I used the Original Wiring for the Charging System and the Pinto Alternator. I also added a couple of Extra grounds, one from the "Frame Rail" to the Starter bolt (into the Bellhousing), One from the Drivers side Motor Mount to the other side "Frame Rail" and the last One that ran from the Battery (in the back) to the frame (at the rear) and I jumped from there to the Engine itself (into one of the Bosses in the Block). I also Eliminated the Ign. Mod. so I had to "Loop" the White/Blue wire that goes from the Voltage Reg. to the Ign. Mod. (1 - is 12ga. and the other is 14ga.). The car I did this to was a 1980 Pinto Cruising Wagon, I didn't have the V-8 in there long but it did run when I had it in the Car.
Just my 2ยข!
