i'm in kelowna bc canada and am looking for an 8inch 3:55 gear ratio thanhs to all in advance AL
I have a complete 8 inch 3.00 gear that I took out of my 1976 Cobra II that there is nothing wrong with the car is being tubbed with a narrowed 9 inch that I would sell very reasonable.
3.55 gears are not that expensive to purchase separately. Get a unit and then swap out the gears. In fact, I had a second center section that had the 2.79 gears that I was using when gas got really out of hand a few years ago, it was like having second, third and an overdrive, not much acceleration but good mpg's. I then swapped back to the chunk that had the 4.11 to go racing. It's about a 3 hours job to change center sections, but the more you do it, the faster you get. Actually 8 lug nuts, 8 axle bearing retainer plate nuts, 10 carrier to housing nuts and the two u-joint u-bolts, that's basically it.
