I was working on putting my car back together tonight, put the master cylinder in and went to hook it up to the brake pedal and couldn't for the life of me remember how the brake light switch went back on. Can anybody post a picture at what way the switch goes on? thanks, Jeff
Hello 78pinto,
If the 78 Pinto is like the early???
The switch goes on the pedal pin that holds the end of the master-cylinder plunger.
When the pedal is depressed the switch activates and the lights come on.

thanks Tony....looks like the early setup is opposite of the newer ones. My master cylinder ram/plunger assembles from the other side but at least i can see how the switch goes on! thanks again. Jeff
Yeah, that kind of screwed me up too when I went to put mine back on. I fist put it on backwards, then was like, wait a minitue, how the heck is that supposed to work?? then put it on the right way! :P
Yeah I think any one of us has had that problem at least once. I know I have. It's not like we replace those every day!
Is this a power brake car,I have pedal Assembly's from 72 to 80 and they are all the same.I have been told the power brake pedals are different.does anyone know what the difference is.
