Shiny is Good! => Your Project => Topic started by: 72Pangrinto on April 03, 2004, 08:52:06 PM
Sorry about the delay- Well the 72 lost #3 connecting rod last Thursday so I needed the Pangra's 2.0L. After swapping basically everything, I still had to go back to the 72's distributor-Had a no spark at around 9:30pm last night. Needless to say while trying to pull the pilot bearing out, it was damaged-rent the tool they said-not me, a chisel and a 1/2 hour of CAREFUL chiselling had the remaining race on the ground!!!
72 runs great and now I need to get busy again....Going to take a short block I picked up 2 weeks ago and transfer the top end from the 72's engine(in Pangra) and hopefully have that up and running before mid month. The swap was generally easy except for rusty exhaust manifold bolts and totalled I'd say about 19 hours total, which isn't great but when you add in the everything going wrong catagory-not too bad. Anyone need any help with shortcuts:)Check out the pics of the aftermath.

At least she has shiney rims.
Good luck restoring her. Looks like a lot of fun.
