Title: 1976 Pinto MPG sold for 12 grand at Barrett Jackson auction
Post by: oldcarpierre on April 06, 2007, 10:43:24 AM
Guys, Check this out:

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/appslist/details/cardetails.asp?In_AuctionID=222&In_LotNumber=1

The MPG was supposed to be a no-frills model, no radio, plainer than plain.  This one is all dolled up.  Colored seatbelts, fancy interior, automatic, even a vinyl roof.

Has anyone ever seen a dolled-up MPG?

Very pretty car. White is a popular color and with a red interior. Hmmmm.

It would be nice if the new owner was a member of the site.  I'd like more info.  Nice looking car though!

IIRC the MPG package was like any other package, available with any other options/packages. So to answer your question, no I've never seen a dolled up MPG, but that doesn't mean they didn't build one.

Oldcarpiere,

Nice find on Barrett Jackson. This is the first Pinto I have seen go through there. $12,000.00 for a 7000 mile car makes me feel a lot better about giving $11,000.00 for a 400 mile car!!
