Title: what is a 80 pinto cruiser worth?
Post by: mustang65 on March 30, 2004, 02:21:41 PM
given the car is in good to better than average shape. No floor damage, just a little rear fender rust, 48k original miles, 2.3l motor 4 speed white with rear window lovers and I think air. I have a chance to purchase this car for 1200.00 us dollars. Is this out of line with peoples' cars on this site? Is it too much? thanks. ???

I can only go by my own experiance.  I bought a 79 wagon with 41,000 original miles in excellant condition (perfect interior, a/c, ps, int wipers, rear defog, am radio, roof rack, and great paint) for $700.  It had new Michelans, fresh brakes, and a new rack and pinion.  So depending on your local market, $1200 seems a tad high to me.

Thanks! I thought it was alittle high as well; however, I really want the car and I don't want to miss out getting it. The car turns out doesn't have air and the driver's side carpet is torn from a woman wearing high heals all the time. Are there places to buy new molded carpet for these cars. I restore mustangs and vendors reproduce just about every part of a vintage mustang. I don't know much about the pinto parts availibility.

I got my carpet from Auto Custom Carpets (accmats.com).  It is about ten years old now, and is holding up well.

Price seems high to me.
Check that rust! The stuff you can see usually means it's a lot worse in the areas nearby you can't see.
