Title: T5 and pinto bell ?
Post by: uncleamin on March 20, 2007, 02:47:54 PM
Hey,
Ok...I have been reading FAQ's here and at Turboford for the past few hours so I don't need any links posted. I just need a quick answer if possible. I have a T-5 from an 88' TC and from what I have been reading it looks like I can use the bell from my 79' sedan 4-speed without any issues. So basically, T5 + pinto bell + 88'TC engine. Is this right or am I reading wrong? Thanks. - Amin

I know that there is something you have to do to make it work. It is not a bolt on in any way. Check the threads... I know it is in here somewhere. Go to a junk yard and pull one from a Mustang, that would be your best bet.

Check out Bill's (77TurboPinto) posts.  I am guessing he is tired of putting links up.  He has a LOT of knowledge in the area of T-5 swapping into the Pinto.  From what I have read, go with a Mustang 4cyl T-5 bellhousing (bellcrank style) and do a little trimming on the crossmember for the linkage to clear and you can even use the Pinto's clutch cable and speedo cable.
