Title: wireing problem

 shorted out wiper switch blew wiper fuze       I can jump the solinoid it will turn over but wont start also lost my 4ways fuze links look good the ones on the solinoid don,t know if their are  any more its a 1980 pinto 2.3 with air/ auto any help would be great  Woodie

Check the wires running to your iggy switch. Sounds like you've lost power to it. At least in the start & run positions.

From the starter relay solenoid follow the large yellow wire(s) back to the ignition switch.  If you do not have the ammeter option, you should run in to two fuse links.  If you have the ammeter option there are three fuse links attached to the yellow wire(s).  The Ford book seems to indicate that they all are located near the starter relay solenoid.  To test a fuse link, I like to use a sewing pin to puncture the wire insulation down stream of the fuse link and check for voltage on the pin (caution: this is a always hot portion of the circuit).

 You guys are great tested the links at the solinoid they looked good one was bad ,replaced it nows all i need is a wiper switch and I,m set  thanks again you guys saved me a lot of time anh hair thanks  Woodie
