Title: t-9 transmission
Post by: dholvrsn on February 28, 2007, 08:51:28 AM
I just got another donor car, this one has a T-9 transmission. Can anybody tell me how stout or wimpy this thing is? What's the most motor that somebody can conscientiously put in front of it? Thanks!

I ran a T-9 for several years in my turbo Rallye. It held up real good.In fact i will be installing it in my cruising wagon later this year. You just can't slam it in gear like a T-5.My T-9 has been drag raced and auto crossed and it still held up.So go for it and injoy your ride.

I have owned two XR4TI's and both T9's have went out. In my opinion it just wouldnt be worth the hassle installing it when there are soooo many 2.3 Mustangs out there in the bone yards. The gears are nice though, good off the line.

If I go for a T-5 swap, do the T-5 and the T-9 take the same bell housing?
