use V8 mustang II mounts. Motor wise, use whatever you want, late model or early model....from 289 to 351w if you want. No cutting of the inner fenders is nessasary...if you buy the right headers. You can use a small bell C4 from a mustang II with no problem, the bigger one will also fit but MAY require some hammering of the trans tunnel at the firewall. (mine is the larger bell....i had to hammer!)

Hey, My dad (Sly Willy) and I just replaced a freeze plug on his 302 so we have the mounts out! I will try to get out there to take a pic or two and I will post the part # (only one # because they are both lefthand mounts from a king cobra).

my 78 pinto has the complete motor and t5 tranny out of an 87 gt mustang.I used mustang 2 mounts and oil pan with no problems. The shorty headers would not fit though.

i may try a set of stock shorty headers.....and MAKE them fit with some modifications. Mine seem to not seal too good causing some trouble with my computer (O2 sensors) to read they are running lean.

Ive heard log style manifolds will fit such as from the first generation Mustangs.

Is there any place to get the part of the mounts that bolts to the block?  I haven't been able to find those... and going to the dealer sounds like a very expensive proposition.

we should probably keep this under the motor mount thread, but  the last time I looked, Ford did not have these motor mounts any more.  Your only hope is either NOS (new old stock) or Ebay.

Good Luck
