Title: Extremly Out there question-
Post by: BlueGoldPinto on February 19, 2007, 08:58:16 PM
Yes, it is. Okay here goes, I'm hoping someone out there will know this.
Does anyone know if the transmission mount of of a 1964 Ford Falcon Futura with the automatic will fit on a 1963 Ford Falcon Futura with the automatic?

I just Checked autozone.com and they do have a listing all the way back to 63, for trans mounts, for your Falcon.

Well, just check it out and it turns out that it does, in fact, ford used THE SAME MOUNT for all of these cars:

Anchor Mount:

Part Number: 2253
FORD   back to top
1971 COUNTRY SEDAN
  1970 - 1977 MAVERICK
1967 COUNTRY SQUIRE
  1964 - 1973 MUSTANG
1971 COUNTRY SQUIRE
  1967 - 1969 RANCH WAGON
1963 - 1970 FAIRLANE
  1972 RANCH WAGON
1962 - 1970 FALCON
  1960 - 1972 RANCHERO
1972 GRAN TORINO
  1975 - 1979 RANCHERO
1975 - 1980 GRANADA
  1963 SPRINT
1971 LTD
  1968 - 1972 TORINO
LINCOLN   back to top
1977 - 1980 VERSAILLES
MERCURY   back to top
1979 - 1981 COLONY PARK
  1970 MARQUIS
1966 - 1969 COMET
  1979 - 1982 MARQUIS
1971 - 1977 COMET
  1975 - 1980 MONARCH
1967 - 1979 COUGAR
  1968 - 1974 MONTEGO
1979 - 1982 GRAND MARQUIS

Ford must have either made WAY to many mounts and had an extreme leftover stock or just really loved the mount! Now, here goes the second question-anyone here know the process of exchanging the old and the new one? If not I can probably figure it out, but it would be nice to know beforehand, if possible.
Thanks!

UhOh, non of the tranny mounts I have found look like the original one on there..... and even worse, its looks like the metal bar that it connects to is going to need some serious weld work becuase it is MAJORLY rusted. Wonderful........
