Title: High Idle?
Post by: 2point3turbo on January 30, 2007, 03:02:06 PM
II have the car running better then ever but it wont idle down. I dont have a RPM gauge but it sounds to be idling at around 1300 or so. I have tried a few steps but cant get it to idle down. Any suggestions?  You think I might know a thing or two after all my posts but I am slowwwwww!!! Thanks guys!

If you are running a stock 2.3 EFI T/B, there is an idle adjustment screw on it. If that won't bring it down, check for a bind in the cable or linkage.

I have the idle screw all the way down and the cable is fine. I cleaned out the IAC and put it back on and it ran fine. When I started it back up again the idle went back up. I also have to unplug the battery cable every time or it will drain the battery so I dont know if that could cause the ECU some confusion as well. Also want to state that I only hooked up the wires noted on all info I found on the swap about constant power to the ECU but who knows, I might have some of the Pinto wiring running all the time when it should be key switched.
