Just working on this Mess I've created but don't want to blow money on the wrong trans. I've dissected my `73 runabout 2.0 to swap for a mighty well built 2.3 but will the 2.0 trans (Fourspeed) match up ? the orig. trans was an auto but needed the fourspeed so from the local junk yard i found a fourspeed behind a 2.0 Will the bellhousing match with the 2.3 ??

With stepped dowel pins the tranny SHOULD bolt up, HOWEVER I don't know is if the clutch will work. The 2.0 and the 2.3 flywheels have different bolt patterns to the crank, the flywheel thickness might be different, and the pilot bearings might be different. Sorry, I have never had a 2.0.

Pintony would be your best bet to ask about 2.0 stuff. He has like thirty of the darn things!
