I am planning on buying some new springs to replace the original ones under the 71. I plan on putting some sway bars on the car in the future as well to further stiffen up the handling. Racer Walsh has a wide variety of spring rates available, what would be the best spring for a nice stiff ride? Im sure that at a certain point going to heavy on the spring would be counter-productive and I don't want to cross that line. I don't mind a stiff ride as long as the car handles well. Anyone have any insight?
Thank you
Adam
Im not a road racer but I ran circle track for 10 years in mini-stock so Ill give you what I had.
I ran a 3/8ths mile asphalt with banking somewhere around 20 degree's. Running a 71 Pinto with a 2.0 in it. (see avatar) Got the 1994 Championship and still hold the track record to this day with the most wins in a season in any division there. 26 out of 32.
I ran Landrum springs as the ones they have for the mini-stocks set my ride height perfect. http://www.landrumspring.com/ I had a #700 in the right front and a #600 in the left front. I also ran their #125 rear leaf springs. I just checked the site and they still offer the leaf springs but you may have to call them as I didnt see the mini-stock coil springs listed but I would say they still carry them. Hope this might help a little.

remember though that the stiffer the spring is the more damping you will need in the shocka absorbers especially it you drive it on the street. the stiff springs and a weak shock will see you driving down the street like you were porpoise jumping out of the water
Yea I will be upgrading to some Koni shocks at the same time. Thank you for the tip!
