Anyone try one on the 2.3? I can pick one up pretty cheap and was wondeing if it would be a good replacement for the 2 bbl.
If you don't use it, I'd be interested for my 2.8L V6.
The 500 cfm 2 barrel is one of the best carbs for our engines. I have had real good luck with them and found no need to ever go with a 4 barrel carb.

Thanks for the info! My car is pretty much stock right now. I am going to be putting a header and removing some of the smog stuff. Is the 500 a good choice for this?
Yes, a real good choice for about anything you will do with that engine.
what is the List number on your 390 Holley carb and would you be interested in selling if you do not use?
I have no idea what the number for the carb is. I will see if the guy still has it. He was going to use it on a V-Max motorcycle but it was not big enough :o
TurboPinto72, is the 500 cfm a stock carb? If so, what does it come on? If not, where do I get one? I'm not real happy with my stock 2 barrel on my 77, so I'm looking to improve.
John
Not sure what it comes on stock but I will check. I have used the 390 carb before and those work real good also. The 390 I used was off a 1970 360 truck engine and was a 2 bbl carb. I rebuilt it and used the same jetting. Either carb you will need an adapter plate. The 2300 and 390 have a wider bolt pattern than the 5200 webber/autolite carb.
