Have a 79 pinto 2.8l, coil went nuts changed it out and all the plug wires, went to start it and no go discovered the tower on the coil is arcking over to the + and - leads on the coil, changed coil still same issue, used the electric grease and 8mm wires any ideas on what is wrong ??? or how to fix it :hypno:
The tower arcing over to the nearest ground seems to indicate an open high voltage circuit. If you still have the old wires, try them again (first the wire from the coil to the distributor). I have installed new wires that turned out to be bad. Also make sure the distributor rotor was installed (unlikely but I have forgoten this).
