I installed the LA3 last night without the ACT hooked up and it ran, poorly, but it ran. This morning I put the wires on the computer, power wires, in there permanent spot and now it wont start. I have the ACT coming but I want to know if that was the problem with it not starting??? After a million cranks it wanted to start but only sputters about 3 times and then nothing. I made sure all the wires were right many times over before hooking back up. I also only have the small VAM, could that be another reason? Thanks
The LA3 NEEDS the big VAM, brown top injectors, and an I/C to run properly. To run other equipment is risking engine damage.
The ACT won't make that much of a difference; I don't have the ACT hooked up on mine (LA2) and no issues.
If it ran before you hooked up the ACT, dissconnect it.
Triple check all your re-pins.
What ECU was in it before?
If it fires and dies, it could be an air leak after the VAM or a bad VAM.
Remember, for the first few seconds, it only reads the ECT and the VAM.

I checked my repins many times over before I put it in. I have all the other stuff, injectors, ACT, but not the big VAM. I think I might just repin back to the PK1 and wait for the VAM. It did run last night without the ACT and I have not changed anything nor hooked up the ACT yet. I just picked it up. What else could have gone wrong? Your the man!!! I hope you can help! Thanks
What is the differences in the PC1 and the PK1 comps? I bought a Turbocoupe wiring harness and it ended up being a PC1 setup not the LA3. Hopefully this benefits me due to my recent screw-up with the XR4TI harness. I need to know if I can just plug the PC1 into the PK1 ecm?
LA3 is in the 88 T/C 5 spds only. You don't want to use that harness anyway. The LA2 was in the 87 T/C 5spd, and the auto tranny cars those years had the LB2 and LB3.
Both my 86 cars had the PC1.
From what a remember, the LA2 will swap to the LA3, same with the LB2, LB3, and the same with the PC1-PK1. The only one I am not 100% on is the PK1/PC1 (double check on this before you swap).
There is a site with all that info, I will try to find it again.
