Hello Group,
Does anyone know what this parts is???
I think that it is not a Pinto part at all but something that was put in the Pinto parts box.
Sorry there is no prize for the correct answer, BUT I'll be sure to bring an extra goodie for you if you attend one of the 2007 Pinto meets.

I am 95% sure it is the part that the door release handle and related skinny rods attach to. Am I right? Am I right??

hard to say for sure but it looks like a outer or inner door handle....not for a pinto!
i ran the part number, and its not the correct part. what the correct part that goes with that box, is the piece that the window crank handle attatches to, and the backing plate. not a door handle as it shows. so its not correct.
Its is either the rear side window inner latch mechanism ( not the same as I have ever seen on a pinto ) or it does not belong on a Pinto.
The part number is correct for the description but it is not the correct part in the box.
I have been selling Ford parts for 35 years and I do not recognise this part.
exactly bill. its not the correct part corresponding with the part number. and the part number refers to the right side (passenger side) but that is not a pinto part, though the part number is. any part number with FZ in it, is a pinto part example "d2fz..... etc"
Hey Skrach,
Be Careful NOW!!!
That is a pretty BOLD statement.
In 1981 The FZ line became Escort.
So any part with a E1Fz is Escort.

that is true tony. forgot that they transfered it. was just thinking bout the majority. good save lol
It looks like the driver's side inside handle on a Maverick starting in, I believe, '73. I've attached a photo from a '74 for reference.
Looks like Wagonmaster wins the prize!!!
Good job Brian!
Wonder where you got the photo??? ;D

...actually the photo came from an eBay auction for a Mav. :)
