does anyone know if ford made a short water pump for a 302-351w? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
yes i believe the early mustang and the falcons used a short pump, they can be bought through summit and the ford motorsport catalog
have any idea how much shorter thet are?
Try looking into a Borg-Warner #420 water pump. I have a book on how to put a v-8 in a pinto and thats the one it suggeests becasue of its shortness.
Here's a look. It's from a 94/95 Mustang 5.0. The impeller had to be changed for correct flow. The pulleys are Ford Performance, single belt. Contact Ken at Performance Motors in Valley Springs, SD 605-757-6281
is it sufficient to cool it/ also how would you go about switching impellers/ How much shorter is it anyway? thanks for the pic. greatly appreciated
From the timing chain cover to the center of the pulley...4 1/2 inches. Ken changed the impeller at no charge.
Ford has a short waterpump listed in the Ford Racing catalog with some of the necessary pieces to accomodate it.
