well i no it's not a pinto but it's a ford ranger what gear's would you run in it to race on the dirt i no a 373 is to much would it be the same as the pinto run's i use to run a pinto with 340 in it

Track size, tire size, and lap times will dictate which "final drive" ratio you need.  Basically, no matter the vehicle it works the same.  Give the information stated above, for a more accurate answer.

1/3 clay nd running a 13 inch tire 185/70/13 now back when i had my pinto i ran the same tire but i had a 215 tranny with 340 rear end gear

I would try to run a 6.40 final or close.  That will put you in the ballpark, 3.40 with 1.97 trans, or 3.00 with 2.14 trans.  That's for the Pinto M2 stuff though.
