Title: rear brakes dragging
Post by: Starliner on November 01, 2006, 09:46:59 PM
My new primary rear shoes don't fit the pivot properly.   The radius in the shoe end is larger than the post.  The upper spring pulls the shoe up approximately 1/8 inch causing it to drag.  Anyone had the same problem.  Is it wrong shoes?   Am I missing something here?   Everything is new.

hey starliner
is the radius the same on both front & rear shoes? if it isn't i would say that
someone has gotten them mixed up. they should be the same as they share
the same post. are they new or remanufactured?  if reman there is more chance
of a mis match. i hope this helps.

Yep, it was the cheap brake shoes.  They pivot cut-out of the primary shoe was elongated.  I bought a set of Raybestos and now have no problems.
