I recently pulled the engine out of the 87 turbo coupe I aquired for my engine swap. when I removed the computer from the vehicle, I found that it said LB2 on the sticker where the wiring harness plugged in and on the other side it has another sticker from ford that says "3.0l taurus/sable only". this seems strange to me. the t-bird seemed to run fine before the engine was removed. is the LB2 computer the correct for this application? its an 87 turbo coupe with auto overdrive trans. any help in answering this would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
Very common, yes it is correct, nothing to worry about.

cool, thanks for the info!
Ford must have have a screw-up somewhere when they labled the computers. I have a 90 bronco II with a 2.9v6 and the computer said Taurus/sable 3.0 and I know of a lot of others who have had this same issue.

Are there any other numbers like 12A650 or 12B577 on that part if so I can run them to see if they are correct for that car.
