Title: silly chrome air filter.. where can I get one?
Post by: fujioko on October 18, 2006, 09:04:58 PM
Hopefully this is an easy question.. Anyway, where can I purchase an aftermarket air filter assembly for the 2.3 with a holley/weber carb.  Seems like there are none available.  I checked K&N 's website and ebay.  Perhaps someone knows of a source.

Thanks

Both Esslinger (www.esslingeracing.com) and Racer Walsh (www.racerwalsh.com) list chrome air cleaners in their paper catalogs for the 5200 Weber carb.  What they do not say is if they clear the Pinto hood (suggest contacting them).

I got mine from K&N...a bit pricey $75.00 + tax...but an easy install and clean looking!

Go to any of your local VW or Dunebuggy stores. Ask for an air filter for a proggressive Weber. My buggys run the same carb as my Pintos do. My Pintos also run that filter. I think its made by Bugpac. Hope this helps.   Mike.
