Title: New here

Hi, I'm just getting interested in picking up a Pinto after stumbling across one recently. I had owned Pintos in the past with my last one being a '77 coupe.

I'm really into 80's 5.0 Stangs but thought this would be a fun diversion into a car from my high school days.
Plus I have a 14 year old son who might enjoy tinkering with it.

I came across this current car in the course of my job. I do independant  damage appraisals. I was at this customers house and asked about a Ford Fairmont in the driveway. She asked if I wanted a Pinto too LOL.
Turns out to be a '72 Runabout that was a wedding present to her from her husband. She was afraid it was going to blow up and bought a Duster. The car has been sitting in a shed since approx '76 or '77.  Funny part is it's blocked in by a '72 Maverick. I told her I was interested in both cars.

I could not get a good look at either of them due to the debris packed around them I'm sure the rodents have done a number on them.

Oh well, just thought I'd say hello. I am enjoying the site & al the pics.

Yeah welcome to the board. My wagon has sat for I dont know how long. Looks to be like it was outside too. ::) The interior stunk so bad of moth balls it made me sick. Ive been finding acorns and mouse nests under everything. Some of the wires in the engine compartment are brittle and deteriated. It mustve been on a hill because the passenger side has more rust damage than the drivers side. I got it for a good price and I knew I would be doing a lot of work to it.

Good luck with them. I hope you get the Pinto.

The Pangra I am working on now was sitting since 1976 outside and had so much rat crap in it I had to strip the whole car. Get them anyway, there a blast.

ohh, ohh....

a 72 runabout?

My favorite!  You must get gome shots of this car & post it here if you can. Sounds like you have a great 'find' here...
