I'm not sure if it's posted here but you guys switching over to EFI engines and using the old style steel crank pulley may have timing issues. I remembered today after checking my timing that my '74 steel v belt crank pulley is about 20 degrees off on the mark when mating up to a '88 timing belt cover that used the serpentine system. Anyone with the same experience?
Sorry for the delayed reply.
I found the issue to be more to do with what belt cover/pulley combo you use. The Pinto cover has a pointer and the scale is on the pulley, where the EFI engines have the scale on the cover and a single mark on the pulley. If you use a matched pair you will be fine, otherwise you need to re-mark one or the other.
