I have a pair of '77 fenders that I removed the rubber extentions, and was planning to install the early 71-75 headlight surrounds. the surrounds don't seem to line up with the fenders and the headlights are off center in them. I'm probablt just gonna screw around with them more and make em work, but are these parts not meant to fit together.
I was under the impression that the 77-78 fenders were the same as the early ones except the headlight extentions.
I have a '77 that I just removed the flexible surrounds from the headlights and installed the earlier headlight doors. I believe the ones I used were from a '74. Once I installed the proper clips for the mounting screws, they mounted right up without any issues. I have also installed '76 style headlight doors to check for fit, as that is the way I will be going eventually, and they fit just fine. As for the fenders, Ford replacement fenders will fit '75-'78 for sure. I'm not too sure about the '74, but I could look at my '74 and see. I believe there are some mounting differences on the earlier fenders, but the early Pinto guys may be able to help with that info.
They should all be the same.I had 77 fenders on my 73 no problems.
