Hey gang,
I just received a great little piece of paper I won on Ebay and that is the build sheet for a 76 wagon along with the owners manual, littler bag and other stuff. I was wondering how one would go about figuring out what most of the stuff means and deciphering it. I would like to make a copy and put the information (or as close as possible) from my 78 Squire onto it. it's a really need piece of history and it would be neat to have one for "Stormy". I can do the work on my computer. I just need some of the codes for a 78
Thank
Mark
Mark,
Have you looked for the build sheet in your '78? I have bought 4 Pinto's in the past 4 years and found the build sheet for every one of them. I have found my build sheets underneath the front seats between the bottom seat cushion and the seat spring. Some under the drivers seat, some under the passenger seat. Hope yours is there. Others have posted other places where they found their build sheets, maybe they will share. I have a few interesting experiences/observations with the very top left number, the ROTATIONS number with 3 of my cars. Will post if you care to hear.
Dave
I will try and look tonight. I will take any information on those that I can. I know that having them (build sheets) with Mopars can add a couple of grand to the value of the car but just want mine to go with the other stuff I have like the original Bill of Sale, owners manual, warranty car and soon the starting instructions. If anyone needs copies of those (starting/seat belt instructions) let know and I will get them out to you either snail mail or e-mail scan. NO CHARGE
I found the original build sheet for my wagon under the drivers seat .Parts are harder to read from age but i can make it all out.
Are they just tucked up under the seat between the springs and padding or are they hard to get to. I am going to look as soon as I get home. It will be nice to find the one for mine but the one i got from the 76 will serve as a good base in case i do not find it. Keep sending the information and if anyone has a guide to the codes, that would be great. My goal for next show season is to win a Best Of Show and the more stuff I have, the better.
I did not have any luck in finding my sheet. I looked and felt under both front seats and nothing. If anyone has the codes for a 78 Squire wagon with a 2.3L auto, no air, I am sure that i can make one from the 76 or at least get close. Only a true die-hard Pinto person would know the difference anyway.
Thanks
Mark
Mark,
You are dead on, they are tucked under the seat between the foam and the springs. Usually folded up quite small. Sorry you couldn't find. Could be somewhere else. I was hoping a few others would post alternate locations where they found theirs. Something makes me think I saw a post a few years back and someone said theirs was tucked in the rear seat back or bottom springs.
Dave
i have found them in that location but it was on a gm and in some cases there is a copy under the carpet.
mark , if you are looking for an original blank build sheet i know of a web site that sells them also i have a 78 wagon non squire just parts car i will see if the build sheet is in it . It was just as basic as they get.
