I just got a 72' coupe with an auto trans in it and I'm going to put a 4 speed in it. The question is about the clutch pedal and the cable. I need some insite on the subject. Thanks ???
I did this swap on a '74 many years ago. And I'm in the process of doing a '78 now. You will need the clutch and brake pedals out of a simular year Pinto (71-73) and a clutch cable. On the '74 I had to drill the hole in the firewall for it, on the '78 there is a plug in the hole. If the car had a c4 trans the slip yoke will need to be changed, at least on the '74 the driveshaft length was the same, just changed the yoke. You will need the flywheel, pressure plate and clutch disk.
I don't think it will take much, just some time to figure it out. What i'm doing is putting a stroker 2.3 in it. It has the 4 speed on it. I'll probability leave the motor and trans together. I need some motor mounts for the swap. Is there anybody that makes these? Any help will be great. Thanks
