I have been in love with Pintos since i was very young and my brothers all had one. About 6 months ago i finally found one and i got it cheap $150s with alittle tlc and and a small monitary investment i have a everyday runner to take to work, but after i got my dream car didn't like the seats i want to find seats that i can bolt right in, maybe a tempo or escort or anything that requires minimal welding.
Tempo & Escort seats have been used by many in the cars. I'm planning on using a set of them myself to put in my car.
fox body mustang seats are also a very close fit.
I answered a similar thread not too long ago. Almost any seats that will fit in the floorboard, and have 4 bolts, can be used without much modification. I've swapped seats in every Pinto, & MII I've owned. I've found that Japanese seats fit best. Personally I don't weld in any braces. I use 3/16" thick sheetmetal in 2" squares. I drill them then sandwich the floorpan between them. I use at least 3/8" hardware to install the seats. From easiest to hardest to install were, 1st gen Mercury Capri, Nissan NX2000, '85 Toyota Supra, '92 Ford Probe. I don't reccommend the Probe seats, unless you're well versed in the use of a BFH & in cursing!! They looked SWEET installed, but GEEZ whatta pain! The most comfy seats... hands down the 85 Supra leather, every adjustment known to man, & all manual. The NX2000 seats in my current car are mighty comfy too, though not quite as adjustable.
Use your creativity, & a tape measure to make sure the tracks mount to the floor, & you'll have a nice set of seats that suit you & your car.
