in the event that my 1980 ford pinto doesn't find a new home,

I would like to know how much a rebuilt / rebuild would cost me, and wehre i might be able to find one cheap,

my car only books for 616 @ low end retail, and i was quoted at 1100 to get a transmission which i think is insane.
