Title: 72 pinto accepting 289?

can anyone tell me what i will have to do in order for my pinto to accept the 289 i just bought?    motor mounts, transmission, rear end?  will everything handle it?  little mods to the motor  pretty much stock but new cam, port-n-polished heads     i was told by a friend to tie the frame rails together   im not totally sure what to do with that or if it will be nessesary  post if you can help  thanks Chris

 I think its the same as any V8 swapp although the 289 is a small block.

The 302 and 289 blocks mount the same, I used MustangII V8 motor mounts. Very little modification. The tranny mount was reversed, 2 new holes drilled and she dropped right in...so to speak.

Once the motor is in will the stock tranny and rear end handle the V8 or do i need to replace them?
