Title: Tire and wheel size...
Post by: ADaughen on September 15, 2006, 12:53:26 PM
I'm +3 sizing on the car to 16" wheels ('06 Mustang V6 wheels). I don't know the wheel width on the new rims, though.  If I do the +3 calc it should put me at 215/55R16 or 225/50R16, right? Stock tires on the 16" are 215/65R16. So 225s should work fine.

I currently have 245/50R17 (Tbird TurboCoupe wheels) on the rears and they barely rub, so 225s should do fine. What do you guys think? Does that sound right?

The 17" make my car look like a 4x4 so I'm hoping the 16" with some lower profile tires will give it the look I'm going for.

What tires would you guys suggest? I'll probably order them from TireRack, unless someone can hook me up locally. Prefer to stay under $150/tire.  Need something with some good performance; I suspect the 302 is going to eat some rubber.
