Title: flywheel question

Do 2.3 Pinto and Merkur automatics use the same flywheel? Are they interchangable?

Call an auto parts store and have them check for available parts for both vehicles. If it's the same, it will have their same #.

Merkur XR4Ti C3 flywheel same as C4 2.3 Pinto flywheel.
C3 Pinto flywheel different from Merkur XR4Ti.

As far as the Pinto "flexplate" (a/t flywheel) goes, the c3 has 3 bolts to the t/c (torque converter), the c4 has 4. The t/c's are different and will not interchange between the trannies.
