Do 4 lug Mustang II wheels fit 71-73 Pinto?
If so, were they available in 14s?
Yes the Pinto and Mustang II share the same bolt pattern. Neither car came with 14" rims from the factory.
Other Ford cars came with 14's and the same bolt pattern; they are out there.
Bill
The Ford Fairmont for one came with 14's with the same lug pattern
I know that the drum brakes on the front of the earlies take a different wheel. That is if you are speaking about stock wheels. I have a set of drum brakes wheels, they will not fit my newer disc brake cars (78's).
That's a good point, the offset is different on the 71-73 cars. I think you can run the later wheels on an early car but running early wheels on a later car causes the car not to handle properly.
Fox-body mustangs, Fairmont/LTD II's, Tempo's, all work.
Only the 71 wheels were different,I do not believe the 71 came with disc brakes,I haven't seen one The drum brake wheel centers were flatter than the disc brake wheels as they did not have to clear the caliper.Offsets are the same.
I had a '71 purchased new in late '70 that had disc's in front
The centers are smaller on the drum brake wheels too, they won't even go over the hub on the rotor.
