I've been checking ebay for a while for a model of a pinto wagon. every time I bid on one, I get out bid just minutes before the auction ends. if anyone has an unbuilt model of a wagon for sale, I'd like to buy it. and to those who out bid me-----> :ih8u: :showback: :P

I am sorry about that. I may have been the one out bidding you because I have at least 4 or 5 that I have won from e-bay but I cant sell them because I display them with my car at shows.
Keep looking because they come up all the time. Now that I have all three versions (same car, just a differnent box art0 I am not going to be buying any more. Of course I have been out bid at the last minute on a bunch of stuff and it really sucks when you have had high bid for several days just to have some jerk come along at the last second and knock you off

I currently have two wagon models and one sedan.
I got one off Ebay as a gift from my wife and two from a local mom and pop model shop.
Let me know if you want one.

I'll post up the two I'm willing to part with.
Make me a reasonable offer. Shipping from 45424 ~1.5lbs boxed.
I finally got one, now the long wait for it to get here. I wonder if there's ever been a bobcat model made? I'd sure like to have one!

yes there was a bobcat/ pinto funny car model you had the option of eather front end to put on it. unfortunatly it was not a wagon.
i have seen it on ebay a few times

Check out this one with less than 400, yes.. four hundred original miles. It not a very desirable year as far as I am concerned, but it would make one heck of a good driver. Can't get one in better condition.
You may need to cut and paste the address twice to get it all. Today is 10-September and the aauction has 6 more days.

Hi Starliner; question for you: why do you say, from your perspective that '79 is not a very desireable year? Educate me, please.....thanks. we might be interested in bidding on this car, although I would have to learn how to drive stick shift.
Nothing wrong with that year at all. It's sorted out after years of production. Even the gas tank issue. So feel good about bidding on the car. The only draw backs are the extra weight, style, and lower gas mileage & performance compared to the early models. But you will probably never find another Pinto with these low miles. The stick is a big plus for a Pinto. It gives you more useable power, better mileage, and easy to fix. More fun too!
I just feel as a collector car the 71-73 Pintos are the most desireable. New productline, a lot of history, no big bumpers, little pollution controls, lighter, cleaner design.
The first years of most cars are usually the best for collectors. Think Corvette, T-bird, Mustang, Camaro, you get the drift.
Myself, I always buy low mileage, unloved cars, with proven drivetrains for drivers. My last driver was a 79 Mercury Cougar with a 302. I bought it with 13,000 original miles for $4000.00. It now has 160,000 miles and my son has it up at college now. Still has the untouched engine, transmission & rear end. thank you Mobil 1. It can get 18 mpg on the freeway at 75 mph. No catalytic converters, dual exhaust, recurve distributor, rejetted carb, no egr. It's a slug for acceleration, but it cruises good on the freeway.
I recently bought a 73 Pinto with 22,000 original miles. It will become my work driver. I will pick it up in a couple of weeks. I figure I can drive it for three years with very little problems. I drive 110 miles a day to work & back. With gas higher I needed this car. Easy to fix too!
After I get my kid through college, I plan to buy a 400i Ferrari or BMW 8 series and put a twin turbo Chevy in it. Until then it's me and the Pinto.
