Title: C3 or C4

How can You tell the diffrence between a C3 and C4 ANd what do the C and numbers repesent?
also ive read the 27 cent modification on this site but if i do have a C3 what are some things i can do to make it shift crisper?

well on the c3 the neutral safety switch is above the area where the shifter linkage hooks up. the cooling line on the passenger side are close together. on the c4 the safety switch is a half moon and is located right on the linkage shaft, the cooling line connection are spaced far apart . also they have different shaped trans oil pans

Also, the c3 has 13 pan bolts and the c4 has 11.

This would be a great one for the FAQ section (this info might be there but not independently).

Just look at your trans pan, if it is a square, rectangular shape it is a c4.
