Does any one know anything about the pottential of DOOE heads when put on a 302?
I did this to my old 88 stang. You'll get a little more compression, bigger valves( I know that the intake is 1.84, but forgot what the exhaust is) and the intake port is a little bigger also. The exhaust port is the same size. When I put my 351 heads on my 80 302 block, I had to use 1970 351 intake gaskets. The head bolt holes are bigger also. I just put washers on my bolts. These heads helpped me get a little over 300hp from my small block. With other parts as well. I did a lot of street racing back in the day. I even keeped track. I was 23 and 0 ::) Never lost a race!

Well Thanks for thew reply. My dad and I are running this combo on his 71 pinto coupe. So far it's pushin around 460 hp without many power additions, only Roller Rockers, a decient crank, an oridginal Torker intake with the diagonal carb, headers, and a .30 bore job. Our carb is a 760 cfm Holly with .71 jets. I think the exhaust valves are 2.10 or 2.11. I've heard that the heads flow somewhere between Gt-40 heads and Gt-40P heads.
Im running C5AE 289 heads on mine.
1.94 intake 1.60 exhaust w/ 280lb springs.
Ports are opened up all the way.
Screw in studs.
Roller rockers.
I like the 54cc chambers. Around 11:1 compression with flat tops.
They are good to around 7200rpm.( I usually only turn it to 6500)
Ran 11.85 on pump gas in my buddies 2600lb sedan. (His broke, so I loaned him my new motor)
Should run 11.40s in mine on alcohol.
